Joyce Marnie, whose grandfather George Marnie served in the Burma Campaign, recalls attending the 25th Scottish Burma Reunion.
She was invited, along with Linda Kinghorn, to dance at the event which took place in October 1977 at the Music Hall in George Street, Edinburgh.
"I had my picture taken with General Sir Philip Christison and got both him and Colonel Viscount Slim to sign my service of the evening," said Joyce. "I think the names of soldiers long gone should be remembered."
