Closure of the Association

On the 1st April 2020, the Association was officially merged with The Burma Star Memorial Fund and all their assets and liabilities were combined into the Fund. However, The Burma Star Association as a charity will not be closed until the 15 August 2020, the 75th Anniversary of VJ Day. Any cheques currently in the system will be accepted and automatically transferred to the Fund if made payable to the Association.
It is now the time for any of the Association Branches who remain open to review their situation and close any remaining bank accounts by the 15th August 2020. We recognise that there are a number of Branches ‘open’ but not effective at the moment, due to any number of reasons, however, come the 15th August they will be recognised as closed. Should any member of an ‘open’ Branch’s Committee wish to contact HQ please feel free to do so.
