Burma Star Association AGM  2020

At the recent Trustees' meeting, after much discussion, it was agreed that the 2020 AGM should be cancelled. This has been brought about by the unprecedented situation regarding Covid-19 where it has become impossible for large groups of people to meet in one place.

It is hoped that VJ75 will be commemorated, as planned, at the National Memorial Arboretum and that further details will be available before the end of June, but, in light of what happened to the live VE75 commemorations we cannot expect everything to go ahead as planned. Even if the event at the National Memorial Arboretum does not go ahead, we have been assured by the relevant Government departments and the RBL that VJ Day will be commemorated virtually worldwide to include those involved in the Campaign from other countries as well as the UK. VJ Day will not be forgotten.

We are aware that FEPOW have already cancelled their Service at St Martin in the Fields, London.
