Celebrate the 80th Anniversary of VJ Day with the BSMF

Join the Burma Star Memorial Fund and Dame Joanna Lumley for a themed evening to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of VJ Day on Wednesday 2nd July.

This fun and poignant event will take place at the Cavalry & Guards Club in Piccadilly. It starts at 7pm with a champage reception followed by an Indian/Burmese inspired dinner.

There are guest speakers, a Q & A session with experts, silent and loud auctions, plus Major Levison Wood and Alex Bescoby will be previewing exclusive clips and talking about their new film The Last Burma Star.

The documentary follows their emotional journey to the Indian border, in search of a 100-year-old Burmese veteran living in a modern-day warzone on the India/Myanmar border. In their possession is a long-overdue Burma Star medal, and a personal letter from HM The King. Will they be able to deliver their precious cargo, before it’s too late?

The BSMF is helping to raise funds to complete the edit and get the film broadcast on mainstream media, as well as supporting the Charity’s ongoing Benevolence, Remembrance and Legacy campaigns.

Tickets for this special dinner cost £145 per head which includes the champagne reception, three-course dinner, beer and wine.
